German manufacturer of natural cosmetics have purchased 5 Silverson mixers FMX50 after their previous equipment cost them much for repair.
The aim was to get a 3% solution of Xanthan gum in water using several vacuum mixers for volumes of 3000 to 4000 litres. The problem was by the time the powder had reached the mixing chamber it had already formed large solid agglomerates. When these agglomerates eventually reached the bottom entry homogenizer they were large enough to cause significant damage. This happened 10 times in 2017 resulting in more than £122,000 in repair costs and even more money wasted due to loss of production!
The cooperation with Silverson started in 2017 when the customer decided to find a suitable solution. Silverson sent them an FMX50 with 40 litre hopper for on-site trials but at the same time they were also trialing inline disperser of another manufacturer.
Both mixers performed well. But the Silverson FMX50 did the same job at a fraction of the cost of another mixing unit. The customer also commented on the simplicity of the hygienic FMX design and how easy it was to perform maintenance on the machine.
As a result, over the last three years the company have purchased a total of 5 FMX50s that have become an integral part of their process.
