A company has ordered 14 In-Line mixers making the order Silversons' biggest ever and the company have expressed an interest in purchasing 4 additional machines in the future. The customer - Gazpromneft Catalytic Systems - part of Gazprom Neft in Russia are responsible for a major project on developing catalyst production for refineries.
They expressed an interest in Silverson mixers 2 years ago when they contacted us about equipment that could be used to disperse a number of different ingredients that are used as catalysts in the oil industry. Some ingredients, such as Bentonite we were already familiar with as it is used a lot in drilling muds, but other ingredients we had less experience with so it was suggested that they ran a trial .
The customer confirmed they were happy with the outcome of the lab trial, they were going to install the mixers at their site. The products being mixed were abrasive which meant the mixers would need double mechanical shaft seals and the rotor and stator needed to be made from a special Duplex steel (Elmax).
The customer's process required multiple mixers for each of their lines, so in total they ordered 14 machines - 10 x 450/600MS In-Line mixers and 4 larger 500/700MS In-Line mixers.
Along with the number of mixers, double shaft seals and special Duplex steel the customer also ordered documentation packages to be translated into Russian, all contributing to the value of the order and making it the biggest order in Silverson history.
